Chiya Privacy Policy

Effective October 4, 2026. This version replaces the policy dated January 16, 2022.

Moblize.it LLC ("we", "us") makes Chiya, a daily word-guessing game for iOS and Android. This policy explains what Chiya collects, why, who receives it, and how to have it deleted. Chiya is free and supported by ads.

What we collect

  • An anonymous account ID. The first time you open Chiya, it signs you in anonymously with Google Firebase Authentication. You never give us an email or password. The ID identifies your device's game data and nothing else.
  • Your game data. We store your scores, the number of words you have solved (by word length), your badges, the words you mark as favorites, and your settings (keyboard style and game mode).
  • A display name, if you choose one. You can set a name in Settings. It is optional.
  • A push-notification token, if you allow notifications. If you allow notifications, Apple or Google gives the app a device token. We store it so we can send game reminders, such as the daily quest.
  • Feedback you send us. If you send feedback from Settings, we store the email address and message you enter so we can reply.
  • Words you guess that are not in our dictionary. We keep these words so we can review and add them. They are not linked to your account.

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos or location for an account. The only email we receive is one you type into the feedback form.

What is public

Chiya has a public leaderboard. If you play, the leaderboard shows your display name (or a generated "Chiya" name if you did not set one), your total score and the number of games you have played. Anyone using the app can see it. Do not use your real name as your display name if you would rather not show it.

Advertising

Chiya shows ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect your device's advertising identifier, IP address and information about how you interact with ads, to show and measure ads. On iOS, Chiya asks for your permission before your advertising identifier can be used for tracking, and you can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings. Google's use of this data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Who processes your data

  • Google Firebase (Authentication, Realtime Database, Cloud Functions and Cloud Messaging) stores and processes your game data and delivers notifications for us. See the Firebase privacy information.
  • Google AdMob serves ads, as described above. See the Google Privacy Policy.
  • Apple Push Notification service delivers notifications on iOS.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone else except where the law requires us to.

How we use it

We use this information to run the game, keep your scores and badges, show the leaderboard, send the notifications you allowed, answer your feedback, improve our word list, and show ads.

Security

Your game data is stored in Google Firebase. Database rules limit access so that each account can read and change only its own data. No method of storing or sending data is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

How long we keep it, and how to delete it

We keep your game data while your anonymous account exists. Deleting the app does not delete the data on our servers. Because the account is anonymous, it cannot be recovered once you uninstall the app. To have your data deleted, email support@moblize.it with the subject "Chiya data deletion" and the display name shown on your leaderboard entry. We will delete your account data, including your leaderboard entry, within 30 days. Feedback emails are kept until we have answered them.

Children

Chiya is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will post the new version on this page and change the effective date above.
